Patterns in your logs
The Patterns in your logs card on Trends Plus names things that turned up together in your own entries over the last 90 days, in counts, with no claim about cause.
What it says
“On days you logged Back pain, you also logged Cramps more often.” And under it: “7 of 8 days · 6 of 61 other days”.
Two counts, two denominators, and nothing else. Not a percentage, not a correlation, not “poor sleep causes headaches”. The card says outright that this is your log, not a finding about your body.
What has to be true before anything is shown
Three thresholds, and they are product decisions rather than statistics — written down so they can be argued with:
- 8 days on each side. Fewer, and “more often” is a sentence about three days.
- 5 days where the two turned up together. Only days where both were logged are counted at all; this is the floor on how many of them had both present. A pattern resting on two co-occurrences reads as a finding and is not one.
- Twice as often. A difference smaller than double is not something to put in front of someone about her own health.
At most four are shown. A list of twenty “patterns” is a machine talking.
What can never be one side of a pattern
- A number tracker. “On days you wrote a water number” is true of every day you typed one.
- Two steps of the same scale. Low mood and very low mood always move together and say nothing.
- A period day as an outcome. Bleeding is a circumstance a day is in, not something you also logged.
If nothing appears
That is the usual state, and it is not a failure. It means no pair in your log cleared the thresholds — most often because there are not yet enough days where both things were answered.
