Pause or stop taking it

Open the medication and tap Stop taking. Give the day and a reason — side effects, cost, insurance, a clinician's decision, or something else. A reason is always recorded, and it starts on Side effects, so change it if that is not why.

What happens

  • The medication moves out of the active list, and its reminders stop the same moment.
  • Nothing is deleted. Every dose you marked, every dose change and every side effect stays exactly where it was, and the medication still appears on the timeline and in the summary for the period it covered.

Starting again

Tap Start taking again and the gap closes today. The break stays in your history, and the reminder comes back on if it was on before you stopped — it used to be left off silently, and people went without doses they meant to take because the app had quietly forgotten.

A medication can be stopped and restarted as many times as life requires; each gap is kept.
