Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Both are states in Settings → About you → Right now, with the day each began. Today shows the state on the cycle card, but you turn it on in Settings. While one is on, the app stops counting cycles and says nothing about them.

What the app does and does not hold

It holds the dates and nothing else. There is no field for an outcome, no question about how a pregnancy ended, and no place where such a thing could be recorded — deliberately, because a log that asks is a log that can be read against you.

There is no end field. A state closes when you pick a different one — including Periods on my own — with the day the new one began; the old one is closed the day before. No explanation is asked for. Its start date is not edited afterwards: if you set the wrong one, pick a different state with the correct day — the mistaken record is removed — and then set the one you wanted.

Symptoms and medications keep working

Everything else in the app carries on as usual: symptoms, mood, notes, medications with their doses, visits, lab results. Many people keep logging through both, and the summary still covers them.

Afterwards

End the state with the day it ended. Your next period starts the first cycle after it. The months in between never become one giant cycle — the state covers them, so they are left out of counting.

Feeding

Same mechanics: a state with dates, cycles paused while it is on. Bleeding during it can still be marked and still shows in your calendar.
